Who we are
Timo Consulting & Services provides IT support, cybersecurity, website development and AI adoption services to businesses in Cedar Rapids and Eastern Iowa. You can reach us at info@timoconsultingservices.com.
What we collect, and why
When you fill in a form on this site. Our forms ask for your name, work email, business name, and details about your situation — how many people you employ, what systems you use, who currently handles your IT, and what prompted you to get in touch. We use this to respond to you and to prepare for the conversation so we are not asking you the same questions twice. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
When you use the 12-Point IT Health Check. This one deserves a specific explanation, because of what it collects. If you complete the self-check and ask for your result by email, we receive a copy: your name, email, business name, your score, and your answer to each of the twelve questions — including the ones where you told us something is missing.
We want to be straightforward about two things. First, we read it. If your answers show a significant gap, particularly around backups, we may contact you once about that specific finding. You can tell us to stop and we will, immediately and permanently. Second, we treat it as sensitive, because it is: it describes weaknesses in your business. It is held in access-controlled systems, not left sitting in a mailbox, and it is not shared with anyone outside Timo Consulting & Services.
When you browse the site. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and how they arrive. This tells us about traffic patterns, not about you individually. You can opt out using Google’s browser add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and self-check results: 12 months from the date you sent them, unless you become a client, in which case your records are kept as part of the normal business relationship for as long as we work together and the period required afterwards for tax and professional records.
Anonymised patterns: indefinitely. We keep a record of what the self-check results show in aggregate — how often backups fail, how often multi-factor authentication is missing — with every identifying detail removed. This is what lets us tell Eastern Iowa businesses what actually goes wrong here. Your business cannot be identified from it, and we do not keep the town, headcount and industry together in a way that would let anyone work it out.
Who else can see it
Our email is provided by Zoho Mail, our CRM is Zoho Bigin, our website is hosted by Namecheap, and our analytics are provided by Google. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms. We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to other IT firms, marketing companies, or lead brokers.
If we are ever legally required to disclose information, we will comply, and we will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.
What you can ask us to do
Email info@timoconsultingservices.com and we will:
- tell you what we hold about you
- correct anything wrong
- delete it
- stop contacting you
We aim to respond within five business days. There is no charge, and you do not have to explain why.
Security
We protect the information we hold using the same measures we recommend to clients: multi-factor authentication on the accounts that hold it, access limited to those who need it, and a defined schedule for destroying what we no longer need. No system is perfect. If we ever have a breach affecting your information, we will tell you what happened and what we are doing about it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above. Material changes affecting how we use information already collected will be notified by email to anyone affected.
