Published, because you should not have to sit through two meetings to find out whether we are in your budget.

You pay one price per thing we look after, and support is part of it. If we manage your laptop and your laptop stops working, fixing it is what the fee is for — we do not bill you for calling us about a machine we are already being paid to keep running.

Every agreement also carries a monthly pool of hands-on time, remote or onsite, sized to what a well-maintained network of your size actually uses. Most businesses never reach it. If yours does, the extra is billed at a published rate rather than absorbed quietly or argued about later.

1. What we manage, per month

ItemPer month
Managed workstation or laptop$13
Managed user (Microsoft 365 administration, identity and MFA, email threat protection, mailbox backup)$13
Server, physical or virtual$38
Server offsite backup, immutable$45
Firewall$45
Managed switch$9
Wireless access point$7
Hosted wireless controller$85
Site monitoring, per location$35
Local backup appliance$45
Offsite backup storage, per TB$80
Kiosk, shared terminal or digital signage$18

What that covers. Round-the-clock monitoring, Windows and application patching, managed endpoint protection, backup running and verified, asset register and documentation kept current, and the helpdesk when something on that list goes wrong. Not a licence to watch a screen and send you an invoice when you ring.

2. Hands-on time included every month

Remote or onsite, your choice. This is for the work a person has to do: troubleshooting, new starters, leavers, a visit to the office, chasing your internet provider.

SizeHours included each month
Up to 10 users4 hours
11 to 25 users8 hours
26 to 50 users14 hours
51 to 75 users20 hours
76 to 100 users28 hours
Over 100 usersQuoted from your environment
Beyond the included hoursRate
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm$135/hr
Evenings, weekends and holidays$195/hr

Billed in 15-minute increments, never rounded up to the hour. Unused hours roll over for one month. Monitoring, patching and automated fixes are part of the management fee and do not come out of your hours.

3. Security, when you need it

The basics are already in the management fee: endpoint protection, patching, MFA enforced, mailbox auditing. The items below are for businesses carrying regulated data, insurance requirements or genuine risk, and are optional so you are not paying for a compliance programme you do not need.

ItemPer month
Managed detection and response, monitored around the clock by a security operations team$10 per endpoint
Security awareness training and simulated phishing$4 per user
Vulnerability scanning with a written remediation plan, per site$50
Compliance pack: written policy set, cyber insurance questionnaire support, annual tested disaster recovery exercise$250

What this actually comes to

A ten-person professional office

Ten laptops, ten users, one server, one firewall, one location, backups tested.

LineMonthly
10 workstations, 10 users$260
1 server plus immutable offsite backup$83
Firewall, site monitoring, local backup appliance$125
Offsite storage, 1 TB$80
Total, including 4 hours a month$548

A forty-device organisation with its own server room

Forty devices, twenty-nine staff, six virtual servers, managed wireless across the site.

LineMonthly
40 workstations, 29 users$897
6 servers, 3 with immutable offsite backup$363
Firewall, site monitoring, hosted wireless controller, backup appliance$210
Offsite storage, 2 TB$160
Total, including 14 hours a month$1,630

A hundred-user organisation across three sites

One hundred workstations and users, ten virtual servers, twenty switches, three firewalls, three locations.

LineMonthly
100 workstations, 100 users$2,600
10 servers with immutable offsite backup$830
20 switches, 3 firewalls, 3 sites, 3 backup appliances$555
Offsite storage, 4 TB$320
Total, including 28 hours a month$4,305

About $43 per person per month at that size. The cost per person falls as the organisation grows, because the platform work does not scale in a straight line.

Terms

  • Twelve months, then month to month, with a 30-day exit any time after the third month.
  • One-time onboarding fee, quoted after the free assessment. The first month is the heaviest: documenting what you have, deploying monitoring, fixing what is already broken and bringing backups up to standard.
  • Billed monthly in advance, by card or bank transfer.
  • Reviewed annually. If your environment turns out to need far more of our time than a well-maintained one, we will say so at the review and agree a change in writing rather than letting it quietly become a problem.
  • The smallest agreement that makes sense for either of us is around $400 a month. Below that, hourly work is the better answer and we will tell you so.

What is not included

Stated plainly, because vague scope is how these relationships turn sour in year one.

  • Hardware, and software licences such as Microsoft 365 or Adobe. We can supply both, and they stay registered to you, not to us.
  • Internet and telephone carrier charges.
  • Projects: migrations, office moves, cabling, new site builds, server replacements. Quoted separately before work starts.
  • Training. Teaching your team to use software is a different job, and we are happy to quote it.
  • Personal devices, unsupported software, and systems you have chosen not to replace.
  • Rework created by declining a recommendation we have put in writing.

If you do not want an agreement

We still take hourly work. It is priced above the equivalent hours inside an agreement, and that is deliberate rather than a penalty: unplanned work interrupts other commitments, arrives without documentation, and costs more to deliver.

Hourly workRate
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, two-hour minimum$150/hr
Evenings, weekends and holidays, two-hour minimum$225/hr
Travel beyond 30 miles of Cedar Rapids$0.70/mile

Payment is due on completion. Iowa sales tax is applied where it is due.

How a quote actually gets made

1

Free assessment

Thirty minutes, no charge. We look at your backups, your firewall and your Microsoft 365 setup, and count what you actually have.

2

Written findings

A short report of what we found and what we would fix first. Yours to keep, whether or not you hire us.

3

A proposal with real numbers

Every line from the tables above, counted from your environment, with the onboarding fee and your included hours.

4

Onboarding

Documentation, monitoring, backups brought to standard, and the things already broken put right.

Start with the assessment

It costs nothing, it takes half an hour, and you end up with a written picture of where your business actually stands. If that turns into an agreement, good. If it does not, you still have the report.
